ROTTEN Spoiled ROTTEN

Holy moly. I cant quite even explain how great my SP2 is right now. I'm actually stunned. I got a box from her yesterday and it was a little box of chocolates, BUT the twelve colorfully wrapped items were different kinds of ROVING. So no gaining weight for my but oh my God I am beyond thrilled! I'd been wanting to try out different kinds of fibers on my wheel but have only gotten to do some Blue Faced Leicaster, some merino/mohair, and some tencel wool blend. Heres the list of the kinds that she sent me: (I am bouncing around in my chair I'm so jazzed!)

Hand dyed mohair (a reall pretty blueberry color)
Cashgora (this stuff feels like buttah!)
Gotland wool (a pretty salt and pepper color)
Silk Merino (creamy white and feels amazing)
Cashmere (this is so soft it should be a sin!)
Rambouillet (never heard of this kind of wool before and its against the skin soft)
Corriedale (another salt and pepper blend)
Alpaca (in a warm linen color - i cant keep my hands out of this bit)
Coopworth Lamb (it feels real dense and is the color of dark chocolate)
Romney (hand combed - in a deep purplish navy color)
Moorit Merino (this stuff is real springy to the touch)
Dorsett - Down breed - super white and dense feeling

I cant wait to spin up all of these into mini skeins and talk about the different characteristics of each. If i were choosing gifts for myself I wouldnt have been able to pick a better one. I am beyond thrilled. I had to go and brag to my husband and he even went and touched each of the little bits as I gushed about how great it is.

Yes... my SP2 is awesomer than yours. Envy me!

Wow, what a score!

Are you going to want to take your wheel to this next meet-up (I think it's the 20th)? I'll bring mine if you bring yours...

I'm completely up for bringing my wheel. Where is the meetup on the 20th?

I think it's probably at Claire de Lune... [opens up other window, goes to meetup.com] ...yep, 7pm, the twentieth (Wednesday) at C de L in North Park, around 30th and University, right off the 805. Can't wait to see you!

Do you ever look at the yarn you spun when you first started, and the yarn you're spinning now and just say, "wow?" Your yarn just looks awesome.

I am so glad you liked the "fiber candy"!! Consider that selection as a bit of cautionary Secret Pal present. After buying a Lendrum and pursuing spinning for a while, you, too, may find that you have an amazing array of different fibers to share, just hanging around your house. I wanted to send that array with the Hochberg book, but I got swamped at the beginning of school. Her book has tips on spinning almost all those fibers!

Your Secret Pal

The box of roving samples was just great :) I thought it was an awesome SP2 gift.

W- I'll see you on the 20th then - have you gotten your Lendrum yet?

Nope, and the man said he really couldn't say for sure when they'd be in.

I didn't order it from Carolina Homespun because woolery.com has a deal with the wheel that if you order a bag with your wheel it's only $45, and their complete wheel package is $455, while CH is $497 for the complete wheel package + $100 for a bag, so I figured since I have a wheel and still love it, I could wait.

But I ordered some more fiber from CH as a lame-ass atonement.

And I really hope my wheel shows up soon.
