*crawls up from under the pile of schtuff*

I've been away from my blog for far too long it seems. Where to start to catch up on all the goings on. My grandfather passed away a couple of weeks ago and my family was caught up in the details of the funeral. He was 83 and lived a long and very full life. His six children cared for him in his twilight years, and I was lucky enough to spend time with him the day before he died. At the various viewings and masses it seemed as if the elderly Vietnamese community came out in droves to mark the passing of one of their own. It reminded me of the scene in the Dark Crystal where the urRu gather to mourn the death of urSu. He is greatly missed.

On the knitting front I feel like I'm a bit stagnated. I'm down to the toe decreases on my second Broadripple sock, and I've cast on for SnB's Manly sweater. I also have my frankenstein tank top back side done up to the V back decreases. I wonder if there is a term for the phobia of finishing an object. Soon as I get close I feel like casting on for something new. I'd have pictures here but I'm holding out to at least finish the toe on that sock first.

And for a bit of enablement... Elann has a sale on 100% Peruvian Highland wool - 10 skeins in a bag for 18$!!!! Thats 1.80 a skein! and soooo many colors. I ended up with a bag of Oxblood, Pumpkin, Chocolate Truffle, Charcoal Heather, Coffee Bean Brown, and Malt Heather. I plan to RAOK some of these bags so stop looking at me funny.

HURRY HURRY They are running out of colors!

Hi Nancy, I'm sorry to hear your grandfather passed away. It is a wonderful thing though to have family and community come out to celebrate the life of a loved one with each other.

I'm in the grips of finishing paranoia right now too, though in my case it's because I'm afraid I'll run out of yarn and have to do some drastic reworking.

How's your spinning going?
