Withdrawal...

I've recently discovered the addictive qualities of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, and this weekend I drove up to North Hollywood to a small store called The Black Broom which stocks (mostly) the BPAL Perfume oil line. I was humming to myself and slathering my arms with different scents. I was hoping to be able to skip waiting 6-8 weeks for an order from BPAL - which is a hell of a long time, and go home with 5mls of scents I'd been anticipating. I spent a good hour there, and of course - the ones I really wanted... Snake Oil, Scherezade, and Black Pearl - they didnt have in stock. I went home with a 5ml of Bon Vivant, and Queen Mab.

I loooove Black Pearl. Its this incredible coconutty scent with just a hint of floral and musk. Since they didnt have a 5ml in stock I doused myself liberally with the stuff and happily exhuded this delicious tropical scent all the way home. That will definately be my first 10ml order... hopefully I'll get it by the end of January :|

On the knitting front I'm going to my very first Claire de Lune meet up tonight and I'm real nervous. I'm pretty excited and am going to be bringing my spinning wheel. Hopefully there will be enough room for it somewhere.

I'm working on some broad street mittens. Hopefully I'll have some pictures tomorrow.

Also... I'm starting a bath and body products business called Bird's Nest Body. I've been taking people's info who are interested in beta testing stuff for me. Right now I'm working on packaging and sending out samples of a solid lotion bar and an overnight foot treatment. A lip balm is shortly in the works too. Send an email to nhough AT myriame DOT net if you want to be added to my testers database and occasionally get free stuff to try out.

Hi, I realize I never asked you about the mittens you were working on! I thought I recognized that pattern as I've just printed it out--I want to use up some rust colored Rowan Felted Tweed that's burning a hole in the yarn basket. How do you like that pattern?

I just got my ClickNShip notice today for a BPAL order that's taken 2 months! But soon I shall have some Gingerbread Poppet and all will be right in the world.

It was great meeting you last night! I hope we get a chance to do it again!

The pattern is pretty fun so far. Its my first pair of anything with fingers so its been a little bit of a challenge. The pattern is interesting enough to keep me at it and not so completely cryptic as to frustrate me to the point of giving it up. That one mitt probably took me about hmm.. 2 days of knitting a bit here and there to finish.

I just got a Hellcat imp today in a swap and man do I smell boozy. I have a Yule order but it wasnt placed until 11/08 - my 10/29 and 11/04 orders were just for imps so I think it may be a few days before I get any BPAL lovin'
